Sunday Preview for October 11th, 2020

You are invited to join us for our Worship with Communion on Sunday at 9 am (we are socially distant and masks are encouraged) or online on Monday when our video is posted.

This Sunday we will be reading from:
Isaiah 25:6–9 (The Lord will bring salvation to His people.)
Philippians 4:4–13 (Encouragement for joyful Christian living)
Matthew 22:1–14 (The parable about the wedding feast)

We will be singing hymns/songs:
LSB 676 Behold a Host, Arrayed in White
LSB 510 A Multitude Comes from the East and the West
LSB 626 Come, Let Us Eat
LSB 633 At the Lamb’s High Feast We Sing
LSB 680 Thine the Amen, Thine the Praise

The sermon on Sunday will look at the Isaiah text. You don’t have to eat crow! (Meaning) being humiliated by having to admit one’s defeats or mistakes. Our message will come from the blessed banquet that Isaiah envisions this Sunday with some Matthew feast sprinkled in. God has prepared a banquet for us! … and it’s not crow. We don’t deserve it, we rarely seek it, and most often we forget about it, unless… we are close to death. Because that is when it is promised, then we will enjoy the rich food and wine. Why does does God do this for us? How did he do it? Find out Sunday.
