Sermon Preview:
We are getting to the end of the church year and many of our texts, both old and new testaments, take us to the Day of the Lord.
For some the day of the Lord will be the most joyous occasion ever. Salvation in near the bridegroom comes again. But Amos, a shepherd, is called by God to talk to his people. The day of the Lord is not what they expect, not salvation but judgment. So get ready, prepare yourselves. How? Repent when your worship doesn’t look like your daily living. And ask yourselves does the Lord accept my worship, my offerings, my songs. He always looks at the heart. Is it full of thanksgiving for the gifts and blessings he wants to give? Well?
